Of the 1,801,049 citizens living in West Virginia in 2021, 79.7% were old enough to vote, equating to 1,434,554 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 707,968 were male, constituting 49.4%, and 726,586 were female, making up 50.6%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in West Virginia during 2021 was higher than the national average, which stands at 77.5%.
