Edicola Selected for Prestigious Scholarship to Davis & Elkins College

Madeline Edicola of Sandston, Virginia, has been awarded a $15,000 per year scholarship for a total of $60,000 over four years to Davis & Elkins College after participating in Senator Leadership & Scholarship Day. Edicola, who graduated from Seton Home Study School, was selected from a group of the 88 highest achieving high school seniors who are among hundreds of students accepted to attend D&E this fall.

Edicola is the daughter of Thomas and Rebecca Edicola of Sandston, Virginia. As a member of the National Beta Club, Edicola held offices as president and secretary and was chosen on-site painting champion and third-place winner of the black and white photography category at the 2020 convention. She participated in the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Teen Stylin’ program and was selected as runner-up in the “Best Interpretation of Artwork” category. Edicola also served on the Henrico Public Library Teen Advisory Board.

Athletically, Edicola was a member of the XZONE Volleyball Club and Spirit Warhawks Homeschool varsity team.

At D&E, she plans to major in art.

To be eligible to compete for a Leadership Scholarship, students must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Students were also required to submit a list of outstanding leadership honors or awards they have received. Students vying for the scholarships participated in interviews and submitted an essay of no more than 500 words describing how they envision their future at D&E.
