The West Virginians for Manufacturing Jobs PAC has endorsed Governor Jim Justice’s campaign for a position in the U.S. Senate representing West Virginia.
“West Virginia has seen massive political changes in recent years, and it is critical that we elect candidates that understand the importance of manufacturing in the Mountain State and its direct connection to the livelihoods of West Virginians,” President of the West Virginia Manufacturers Association Bill Bissett said in a release. “We believe that by electing [Jim Justice], West Virginia will be in the best position to continue future economic development and create opportunities that not only allow our citizens to remain here but also attract new residents to our state.”
Manufacturers in West Virginia employ over 45,000 workers, according to the West Virginia Manufacturers Association. The average compensation for a manufacturing worker is over $75,000 annually.
Justice has also been endorsed by former President Donald Trump, West Virginians for Life, the West Virginia Coal Association, and the West Virginia Sheriffs’ Association.
Jim Justice attended Woodrow Wilson High School. He received both his Bachelor’s degree and MBA from Marshall University.
Justice was first elected as Governor of West Virginia in 2016 as a Democrat candidate. He changed his party affiliation to Republican in 2017, and won the reelection to a second term in 2020. He is currently running for U.S. Senate in West Virginia, with the Republican Primary scheduled for May 14.
