Michigan man receives 10-year sentence for attempted meth possession in Huntington

Aaron Dequawn Hardy, 30, of Pontiac, Michigan, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release for attempting to possess with intent to distribute over 500 grams of methamphetamine. The sentencing took place in Huntington, West Virginia.

Court documents state that on February 10, 2023, law enforcement conducted a controlled delivery at a Huntington address. Officers had previously removed 2.2 kilograms of methamphetamine from the package before delivering it. Hardy was arrested when he arrived to retrieve the package.

United States Attorney Moore Capito announced the sentence and recognized the work of the Huntington Violent Crime and Drug Task Force and the Huntington Police Department. United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers imposed the sentence, and Assistant United States Attorney Courtney L. Finney prosecuted the case.
