NFIB State Director Gil White has expressed agreement with U.S. Representative Carol Miller regarding the potential impact of a proposed federal tax on small businesses in West Virginia. In a statement, White responded to Rep. Miller’s editorial in The Herald-Dispatch, where she concurred with NFIB’s stance against the new tax.
White stated, “Supporters of this tax hike say they’re trying to close a loophole, but that’s simply not true. This is a tax increase on West Virginia’s job creators.” He emphasized the current challenges faced by small businesses due to inflation and supply chain disruptions. White warned that if the proposed tax becomes law, it could hinder the recovery process for small businesses in the state.
White also extended gratitude to Rep. Miller for her support and urged other members of Congress from West Virginia to oppose the tax proposal as well.
