Ohio man pleads guilty to fentanyl distribution charges in West Virginia

Roderick Tyrone Boyd, a 30-year-old resident of Vandalia, Ohio, has pleaded guilty to charges related to the distribution of fentanyl in West Virginia. According to court records and statements presented during proceedings, Boyd assisted another individual in selling fentanyl on March 26, 2025, and also distributed fentanyl himself on April 26, 2025. Both incidents took place in Cross Lanes, West Virginia.

Boyd is set for sentencing on May 19, 2026. He could face up to 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a fine reaching $1 million.

United States Attorney Moore Capito announced the plea and acknowledged the investigative efforts of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The hearing was overseen by Senior United States District Judge David A. Faber. Assistant United States Attorney JC MacCallum is handling prosecution duties.
