Small business owners in the state have shown significant support for the Personal Property Tax Modernization Amendment, according to a survey conducted by NFIB. The amendment proposes granting the legislature constitutional authority to eliminate certain taxes on businesses with inventory or assets such as vehicles.

The survey results indicate that 84% of NFIB members in West Virginia are in favor of Amendment 2, while 5% oppose it and 11% remain undecided.

“NFIB‘s position on public policy issues is determined solely by our members,” stated NFIB State Director Gil White. “We ballot our members every year on the state and federal issues affecting their businesses, and we reach out again when an important issue comes up, like Amendment 2. In this case, the voice of our members came through loud and clear. They support this proposed state constitutional issue.”
