Anthony Jackson, 59, and Brian Lee Moore, 38, both of Huntington, have been sentenced for their roles in distributing fentanyl. Jackson received three years of probation with six months of home confinement for distributing a quantity of fentanyl. Moore was sentenced to seven years and three months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for aiding and abetting the distribution.

Court documents show that on January 8, 2025, Jackson and Moore sold about 3.28 grams of fentanyl to a confidential informant at an apartment on 10th Avenue in Huntington. During their guilty pleas, Moore admitted to providing the fentanyl to Jackson, who then distributed it.

Both men also admitted to additional criminal activity as part of their pleas. Between January 11 and July 3, 2024, Jackson distributed approximately 78.16 grams of fentanyl over eight transactions with a confidential informant. Moore provided about 67.09 grams for six of those deals.

Law enforcement executed a search warrant at the same apartment on August 6, 2024. Officers seized roughly 338.34 grams containing fentanyl, fluorofentanyl (a fentanyl analogue), heroin, and xylazine (“tranq”), along with $1,130 in cash and two pistols—a Taurus Model G2C 9mm and a Springfield Model MDM pistol. Both defendants were present during the search; Jackson said he was there to receive fentanyl for distribution while Moore admitted he was there to provide it and possessed the firearms and cash found.

A few days later on August 9, officers searched a safe deposit box at a local bank in Huntington where they seized about $50,000. Moore acknowledged ownership of this money as proceeds from drug sales.

United States Attorney Moore Capito announced the sentences and praised the investigative efforts by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Cabell County Sheriff’s Office.

The sentences were handed down by United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers. Assistant United States Attorney Joseph F. Adams prosecuted the case.
