The West Virginia Department of Human Services (DoHS), Bureau for Social Services (BSS) has initiated a 14-week leadership training program named Leaders Thrive. This initiative is designed to enhance the leadership skills of its employees.
“Empowering our employees to thrive as leaders is not just a goal, but a commitment to the betterment of our community,” stated Jeff Pack, Commissioner of the DoHS Bureau for Social Services. “Through the Leaders Thrive program, we aim to cultivate a culture of excellence and collaboration.”
The training commenced on April 2, 2024, at the West Virginia Regional Tech Park in South Charleston. The program includes a leadership assessment component that assists employees in understanding their leadership behaviors and maximizing their strengths. Managers will also learn how to identify personal workplace priorities and preferences while connecting with colleagues who may have different perspectives.
Epiphany Consulting, a company based in West Virginia known for providing strategic employee development tools, will oversee the training sessions throughout the year. The final session for this year is scheduled for December 10, 2024, culminating in an emerging leader graduation.
