The West Virginians for Life (WVFL) political action committee has extended its endorsement to Gov. Jim Justice in the Republican Primary for the U.S. Senate in West Virginia. This significant backing from the state’s leading non-profit, pro-life organization arrives just over a month before West Virginians cast their votes.

According to a press release issued by Justice, the endorsement was announced by the West Virginians for Life Political Action Committee (WVL-PAC) on April 3. “We commend Jim Justice’s commitment to the cause for life, especially the unborn, the elderly, and those with disabilities,” said Wanda Franz, president of WVL-PAC.

The press release further quoted Justice expressing his gratitude for the endorsement. He said, “I have been a champion for the pro-life movement, protected the unborn, appointed pro-life judges, and helped our pregnant mothers and their families with record funding for pregnancy resource centers. In the U.S. Senate, I will always defend the right to life of every unborn child, the elderly, and those with disabilities, and like President Trump, who has endorsed me, I will support the appointment of pro-life federal judges.”

Justice’s announcement of his candidacy came in April 2023 as stated in an earlier press release. The lifelong resident of West Virginia has long been involved in local politics.

In October 2023, according to another press release, President Trump expressed his support for Justice through a post on Truth Social. He said: “Big Jim Justice is BIG in every way but especially in his wonderful HEART! Strong on Border security, our Great Military & Veterans’ affairs, CLEAN COAL & Energy Dominance policies; he’s also committed to economic growth and stopping inflation while protecting our 2nd Amendment rights. Big Jim will be a Great UNITED STATES SENATOR and has my Complete & Total Endorsement.”
