Davis & Elkins came roaring back on day two of the Mountain East Conference Spring Classic to win by eight strokes after trailing by four following the first day of action.

D&E was twelve strokes better than their nearest competitor, the University of Charleston on the day as they shot a 282 (-2) for the round. The ten-stroke turnaround from day one helped propel the Senators from the fourth position well to the top of the leaderboard going into the final holes.

Davis & Elkins took first place with 574, followed by Charleston (582), West Liberty (588), Glenville State (596), West Virginia Wesleyan (607), Fairmont State (613), Concord (627), Notre Dame (628) and West Virginia State (638).

The Senators were led by Lewis Beeden, who shot the day's best round of 68 (-3) to draw even for the tournament and tie for third overall with a 142 total. Jack Coleman carded a 71 (E) for the round and a 144 total (+2) which was good for sixth place. Jordan Hyland was also in the top ten with a tie for eighth place. His round of 146 (+1) and 146 total (+4) were a spark for D&E.
 
Matin Eisa scored a five over par 147 to finish tied for thirteenth. Evan Lewis carded an even par second round and a +9 151 total to finish tied for eighteenth, while Sean Addie was plus ten and 152 to finish tied for twenty-fifth.
 
Leonardo Turra competed as an individual for D&E and finished tied with Eisa at thirteenth.
 
Following the second round, Beeden and Coleman were named to the All-MEC first team. Hyland and Lewis were named to the All-MEC second team.

The All-MEC men's golf team is selected based on individual performances by players during five rounds of MEC sponsored play during the 2022-23 season. The first three rounds of MEC play took place from October 3-5 at Avalon Golf and Country Club in Warren, Ohio during the 2022 MEC Golf Championships. The final two rounds were played over the last two days at Edgewood Country Club during the 2023 MEC Spring Classic.

Alex Easthom from West Liberty was named MEC Player of the Year for the third-consecutive season.

Joining Easthom, Beeden, and Coleman on the All-MEC first team were Bo Orecchio (West Liberty) Juan Monckeberg (Glenville State), Francisco Taboada (WV Wesleyan) and Rory Gorman (Charleston).

Monckeberg and Taboada were both named MEC Freshmen of the Year honors.

Joining Hyland and Lewis on the All-MEC second team were John Logan Taylor (Fairmont State),  Erik Ulvang (Charleston) and Cole Darbyshire (Charleston).

Six players earned MEC honorable mention, including Alex Turowski (Fairmont State), Pau Sanchez (Charleston), Jimmy Graham (Notre Dame) and Shaydon Johnson, Mathias Nunez and Bumin Choi of Glenville State.
