Battler Volleyball goes 2-0 in Final Day of Bobcat Classic

 The Alderson Broaddus Women's Volleyball team returned to action at the Bobcat Classic, hosted at West Virginia Wesleyan College. The Battlers went 2-0 on the day, with a 3-0 win over Kentucky State.  They ended the evening with a 3-2 win over MEC rival West Virginia Wesleyan.

 

Saturday Match 1-Kentucky State 0, Alderson Broaddus 3: The Battlers opened Day 2 of the Bobcat Classic matching up with Kentucky State.  The Battlers would take control of the match early and roll to a 3-0 win.  (26-24,25-22.25-20)

Jocie Fisher led the Battlers with 11 kills along with 7 digs,  while Zoey Kiefer pitched in 7 kills. Kaityln Jager led the Battler offense with 25 assists. Kayla Holbrook led the Battlers with 5 aces.

Friday Match 2 - West Virginia Wesleyan 2, Alderson Broaddus 3: The Battlers would close out Day 2 with a five set win (24-26,25-16,25-21,25-27,15-13) over the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan.  AB would have three hitters all reach double digit kills.  Jocie Fisher would again lead them with 20, while freshman Jenna Montgomery added 10 kills, and Anna Umpleby pitching in 11.  

Junior setter Kaitlyn Jager, produced a double-double in the match with 40 assists and 11 digs.  Jordan Grimes would add 16 digs to help the Battlers defensively, along with 2 aces.
