Bethany College volleyball player Emma Marthins earned Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Player of the Week honors announced Monday afternoon.
Marthins put together a terrific all-around week for 3-0 Bethany. In victories over Saint Vincent, Franciscan and Waynesburg she hit .364 with 29 kills and 13 blocks. In Tuesday's straight-set win at Saint Vincent she hit .600 with 10 kills and five blocks. Marthins hit .417 with seven kills and six blocks in a straight-set victory over Franciscan Thursday before totaling 12 kills and a pair of blocks in a three-set win over Waynesburg Saturday afternoon.
Last week she finished with 38.0 points (3.80/s) and averaged 2.90 kills and 1.30 blocks per set.
Marthins currently leads the PAC with 61.0 blocks and ranks second in hitting percentage (.328).
The weekly laurel is Marthins' first of the season.
The Bison return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 27 when they face Washington & Jefferson College at 7 pm in Washington, Pa.
