D&E Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Receive All-Academic Distinction
The Men's and Women's Scholar All-Academic Teams for the 2022 NCAA Division II Cross Country season; as well as the All-Academic Athletes were announced on Thursday (January 26) by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period and compile a team score at their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers. In order to qualify for individual All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.
Both the men's and women's cross country teams received the team distinction for the second consecutive year. The men achieved the honor with a cumulative GPA of 3.092, which included a fall 2022 semester team GPA of 3.353, and the women achieved the honor with a cumulative GPA of 3.06, which included a fall 2022 semester team GPA of 3.185.
The D&E All-Academic athletes receiving the honor: Jackson Gibson, Thijs Terlouw, and Pablo Velt for the men and Anya Miller, Lauren Twyman, and Savanna Hardman for the women.
