The West Virginia Department of Health's Bureau for Public Health has introduced a new portal aimed at facilitating access to vaccination records for residents. The platform, MyIRMobile, allows users to view and print their immunization history.

"Immunizations are an important part of staying healthy," stated Sec. Sherri Young, DO, MBA, FAAFP. "This is just another tool to empower people with the most up-to-date information possible when it comes to their healthcare."

Information for the portal is sourced directly from the West Virginia Statewide Immunization Information System (WVSIIS) and can be accessed via any computer or smart device. This development aims to alleviate some of the administrative workload on healthcare providers. The portal enables patients, parents, and legal guardians to retrieve personal records.

MyIR features a straightforward registration process that includes a two-step verification method to ensure accurate matching in the immunization registry. Users can add dependents under 18 years old to their accounts. Once verified, users can access and print their vaccination records as needed. These certified records will be recognized by institutions requiring proof of immunization.

The system complies with HIPAA regulations, ensuring that records are accessible only to authorized individuals.

For support related to MyIR, assistance is available by phone at (304) 356-4047 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
