NFIB West Virginia member Wylie McDade participated as a panelist on “FOX & Friends” this morning. McDade, who co-owns Devil’s Due Distillery in Kearneysville, discussed the State of the Union address delivered last night.
"I didn’t see a whole lot about small business," McDade commented. "You know, we struggle mostly from fuel prices because we rely so much on our just-in-time supply chains … When we started this business, (fuel prices) were in the mid-$2 range. Now, they’re more than double that, and they’re staying up there. They’re affecting every commodity we bring in."
He further explained, "We’re a production facility … and really rely on our just-in-time supply chains that, I think remain broken."
Earlier this week, McDade testified at a field hearing of the U.S. House Ways & Means Committee in Petersburg. He was one of the small business owners featured in NFIB's recent national TV campaign advocating for federal tax relief.
