Anyone whose letter to Santa requested more Christmas music just had their wish come true. Davis & Elkins College radio station WCDE 89.9 FM Elkins AiR1 is spreading the joy of the season with Christmas music 24 hours a day.
WCDE General Manager Dick McGraw said the music selections represent close to 1,500 songs from many artists and musical styles.
“This has become such a fun tradition,” McGraw said. “I actually start getting comments as early as July asking when we will start the Christmas music. I understand that, especially these days. It is a chance to disconnect from the issues of the day and travel into a much simpler time and place.”
Christmas music around the clock has been a tradition at WCDE, dating back to 2011. Programming is being presented as a gift to the Elkins community.
The 260-watt contemporary Christian music format station broadcasts from the campus of Davis & Elkins College and can be heard in Elkins, Beverly, Valley Bend, Mill Creek and Huttonsville.
