Michelle Williams Combs ’73, PA-C, will be the Graduate Commencement speaker for the Master of Science in Information Technology Administration, Master of Science in Anatomy, and Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (PA) ceremony slated for December 16, 2022, in the Wilcox Chapel on the campus of Alderson Broaddus University. Her commencement address is titled, “You Graduated; Now What?”
Michelle Williams Combs graduated from Alderson Broaddus University in 1973. She grew up in West Virginia with her family, including three younger sisters. She now resides in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Her first physician assistant position was with the AB Physician Assistants program serving as their educational coordinator while working in Philippi and Charleston, West Virginia, at the Charleston Area Medical Centre (CAMC). After she and fellow AB alum Glen Combs ’73 were married, they moved to San Francisco, where they worked in an Internal Medicine practice.
Combs has worked in several positions as a PA, including a Health Department in Lexington, Kentucky, during the HIV/AIDS pandemic, Planned Parenthood, and for more than ten years in Primary Care. Most recently, she worked in Hematology/Oncology for 14 years. She is now retired after 48 years as a practicing PA.
