Jeff Brabant, Vice President of Federal Government Relations for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), appeared on WRNR in Martinsburg to discuss the importance of making the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent. This deduction, introduced as part of the 2017 tax law, is set to expire at the end of 2025.

Brabant emphasized that Congress should act to prevent what he described as a "massive tax hike" on small businesses in West Virginia. The deduction was designed to provide small business owners with financial relief comparable to that available to larger corporations, helping them navigate recent economic challenges.

To address this impending issue, the Main Street Tax Certainty Act has been proposed. If passed, it would ensure the continuation of this deduction and protect many American small businesses from increased taxes.
