The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has initiated a radio advertisement campaign in West Virginia. The campaign urges Senator Joe Manchin to oppose the newly proposed tax on small businesses and any related tax increases.
Kevin Kuhlman, NFIB Vice President of Federal Government Relations, expressed concerns about the impact of the proposed legislation. He stated that "members of the U.S. Senate are wrongly characterizing the proposed legislation as the closing of a 'loophole' or 'funding Medicare,' but it is in fact a tax increase on small businesses."
Kuhlman highlighted that "Main Street cannot afford these new tax increases," emphasizing that small business owners have experienced declining optimism for six consecutive months. He noted that their expectations for improved business conditions are currently at an all-time low.
Kuhlman further commented, "These proposals would hurt the small business recovery, impose unaffordable tax increases, and make top issues like inflation even worse." He urged Senator Manchin to stand against any measures leading to increased taxes on small businesses.
The NFIB's ad campaign is part of its broader efforts to protect small businesses from financial burdens that could hinder their recovery and growth prospects.
