U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito has expressed her support following the recent passage of the Senate's budget resolution. "The passage of the Senate's budget resolution marks a critical step forward in delivering on the promises we've made to the American people. This budget paves the way to advance President Trump’s priorities—securing our borders, strengthening our military, cutting taxes for hardworking families, and unleashing American energy," Senator Capito stated.

Senator Capito highlighted her vote in favor of the resolution, emphasizing its potential impact on economic growth, national security, and opportunities for West Virginians and all Americans. She also criticized certain Democratic amendments, calling them "uniformed and unserious messaging amendments by Democrats, which continued to show they care more about political points than what is important to Americans."

The Senate's budget resolution includes key adjustments related to tax cuts and spending. It makes President Trump's tax cuts permanent and establishes a savings floor to help Republicans cut wasteful spending. Additionally, it prevents Democrats from leveraging the debt limit to push liberal agendas ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. The resolution also includes reconciliation instructions for Senate Committees and upholds the House Committees' instructions.
