U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito, Tammy Duckworth, Susan Collins, and Jeanne Shaheen have introduced a bipartisan resolution to honor the 113th anniversary of the Girl Scouts of America. The senators, who are co-chairs of the Girl Scouts’ Honorary Troop Capitol Hill, aim to recognize the organization's legacy in empowering girls and fostering female leaders nationwide.

Senator Capito expressed her pride as a former Girl Scout alumna: "The Girl Scouts continue to instill self-confidence, resilience, and a sense of adventure in young women," she stated. She emphasized her support for the resolution and looked forward to seeing the continued impact of the organization on future generations.

Senator Duckworth highlighted the enduring influence of her experiences with the Girl Scouts: "I still use the leadership skills that I developed in the Girl Scouts as a young woman every day," she said. She acknowledged how the organization has been instilling values of service and preparedness in girls for over a century.

Reflecting on her own experience, Senator Collins noted: "I am proud to have grown up as a Girl Scout in Caribou and to now be a member of Troop Capitol Hill." She praised the organization for teaching important values such as good character and leadership.

The full text of the resolution is available for public viewing.
