U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito visited Mingo County, West Virginia, focusing on healthcare and economic development initiatives. The visit included a stop at Williamson Memorial Hospital, where Capito received updates on the facility's upgrades under new leadership.

“West Virginians in Mingo County and surrounding areas rely on Williamson Memorial Hospital for a range of health services,” Senator Capito stated. She commended Dr. Beckett for purchasing the hospital and making significant investments to improve the facility, which she believes will positively impact the region.

Dr. C. Donovan “Dino” Beckett, CEO of Williamson Health & Wellness Center, expressed appreciation for Senator Capito's involvement in their efforts to enhance healthcare services. “We are honored Sen. Capito is a part of it and excited to share with her a look at the extraordinary strides we’ve made at the new Williamson Memorial," he said.

Tim Hatfield, CEO of the new Williamson Memorial, also praised Capito's support: “She recognizes...the importance of this effort. It means greatly improved access to care for the people of our community.”

Capito then proceeded to Buck Harless Wood Products Industrial Park in Whitman, West Virginia, where she engaged with local business leaders and toured facilities like Coal-Mac Trucking and JP Technical Services.

“It was great to meet with business leaders today in Mingo County,” said Senator Capito. She emphasized her commitment to supporting local businesses by taking insights from these discussions back to Washington.
